Cheer thanks Community for Support
CHEER’s yearly Mobile Mammography Day was another successful event.
CHEER has been partnering with Christus Santa Rosa’s mobile mammography since January 23, 2007. Women have been identified as needing further views which resulted in a diagnosis of breast cancer. We thank the 35 women who participated in our event and we will be paying for five uninsured women to have a mammogram.
CHEER wants to thank Jackie Trevino and her two mammographers for providing a great service to our women. We want to thank Yolanda Rueda for providing a delicious lunch for the mammography staff, and CHEER board members and volunteers Michelle Hernandez Talamantez, Mary Jane Turner, Pam Melancon, Jackie McDonald, Lesley Jones. CHEER couldn’t have done it without them. A special thank you to BISD nurse Savanah Molinar for promoting our event. CHEER wants to give a big thank you the to the Kinney County Post for promoting our event. A special thank you to Erin from Saguaro Sweets for donating her delicious breast cancer themed cookies for our event for each woman participating. Thank you to the following businesses for providing door prizes for the event: Ziggy’s Barbecue, The Bank & Trust, Pizza Outpost, D&D Hardware, Clinic Pharmacy, and Floral Xpressions in Del Rio, and special thank you to the Frontier Baptist Church - Brackettville for providing the use of their fellowship hall and parking lot. God is so good for providing for our every need.
A healthy Kinney County requires great community news.
