Community Rallies to Support Brackett Band Students

by Annabell McNew

When band mom, Stephanie Oskin, noticed how long band competition days can be—often stretching from 6 a.m. to nearly midnight—she decided to help keep the students fueled. Oskin, with the help of her son Dean, family, and friends, began assembling goody bags filled with Gatorade, snacks, and energy bars to supplement the two meals provided by the school. After posting on the band’s Facebook page, parents and community members quickly joined in, donating items and helping fill 65 bags for each competition. Keeping Tigers fed can be a tall order, but Brackett ISD has some fantastic parents and community members willing to help and cheer on the kids! If you’d like to contribute, reach out to Stephanie Oskin or email editor@kinneycountypost.com and we will pass your offer along!
